Updated August 2025
At Carver Middle School, our mission is to foster academically prepared students who achieve at high levels both in school and beyond. To support a focused and professional learning environment, Carver Middle School has adopted a mandatory uniform and dress code for all students.
Why a Uniform Policy?
- Maintains a focus on academics, not fashion
- Reduces visible differences in student backgrounds
- Minimizes peer pressure to wear brand-name clothing
- Promotes a uniform appearance that fosters a sense of belonging and community.
Uniform Expectations
- A "uniform look" is required for all students. Please see the guidelines below for specific uniform components.
- On designated non-uniform days, students may dress in a manner that is casual yet appropriate for a learning environment as outlined in TPS Board Policy 2601/2601-R.
- Mandatory Uniform Accessory – Lanyard & ID (See “New this Year”) (Different color for each grade level)
- 8th Grade - Purple Lanyard
- 7th Grade - Green Lanyard
- 6th Grade - Cobalt Blue Lanyard
Policy Enforcement
- The uniform policy will be enforced at all times.
- TPS Board Policy 2601 and 2601-R provide the minimum requirements; Carver may specify additional expectations as needed.
- We recognize that fashion and grooming trends change. Carver reserves the right to update guidelines as necessary to maintain a professional atmosphere.
