Science teacher Shelby Jones has been selected as the 2024-2025 Carver Middle School Teacher of the Year!
Shelby joined Team Tulsa in 2022, and this is her second year teaching 6th grade science at Carver. She also serves as the Student Council sponsor.
"I've found immense joy in forging strong relationships with students and students’ parents, understanding their individual needs and learning styles, and creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment," said Shelby.
One of Shelby's nominators said: "Miss Jones always puts her children’s feelings and emotions first. She shows them that she cares and then she teaches them what she knows. She has exceptional relationships in her school building. She supports all of the students in their adventures and is always a kind person."
Outside of work, she is passionate about self-care and wellness.
